My Macrostoma Part 2

Due to my previous female not that good anymore, i decided to order some new blood to top up my collection. While ordering, i was shock to know that the site, which use to be plenty full of macrostoma is being disturb, and the best i can get is only about 7 cm. Which is about less than 3.5 inches. The illegal logging really destroy a lot of creatures habitat. Get short of complaining lets look at some of the fish i get...
Upon arriving, i can quite a few small fishes, which is about same size as my F1 juv, but when i place them side by side. God, that really makes a lot of different between Wild caught and CB. Wild Caught fish are really red. Maybe some recipe is still missing ( the fish food )..hm...

Poor Fella got bullied by others, he is the smallest among all, roughly around 2.5 inches

Minutes after i release them into one of my 3ft tank...Here comes the action, but too bad i didnt get a good shot of out it.

And here are some of the adult males for shows...they do eat like pig...lol

My Other Hobbies

Besides keeping bettas, Keeping Cryptocryne is also one of hobby. I started to get interest in this thing since 2 years back, when i start my field trip to catch wild bettas. My very first crypt collected is cryptocryne Longicaulda, which currently i dont keep them anymore. Currently i only keep a few crypts as i have limited space besides fishes.

Betta Macrostoma

Betta Macrostoma, i believe most of the wild betta hobbyist has be crazy about this fish. Me myself got bitten by it about a year ago. To be honest, this is not an easy going fish. Before i really get my hand on them well, i kill more than 6 pairs and during the time fish the cost me about RM 450 per pair. Woot... great my wallet just made of huge hole out of this. After several attempts , i manage to get them spawn successfully. To me, spawn them and raising them is the biggest part of fun in fish keeping. You can see how the fries hunt for food, react against each other when they meet, color development stage..etc etc i just cant name it all..lol

my first pair which broods successfully

I keep my fishes in a 2 feet x 1 ft x 1ft tank. The tank use to be with sponge filter but recently i just upgrade it due to laziness ( lazy to change water often ). Recently i just bought in some new fishes to add some new blood into my gene pool.

Stressful new fish in green water.
